Anonymous said...: This postcard is a good deal before 1945, but shows Hucknall as it was. Top left is the Market Place,top right is a view of Watnall Road,looking down from the junction with Beardall Street; the Baptist Church is clearly visible on the right hand side, and the building in the foreground is where Clem Munks garage used to be - more recently used as a hairdressers and sports ewar shop.; 17 March 2010 at 15:32

Bottom right is the High Street being viewed from Watnall Road junction looking toward the Church on the Market Place. The old Post Office is just visible on the left.
Farley Lane in the centre looks quite different today - no longer a hedge lined path, but a busy road with houses either side stretching down to the by-pass.; 17 March 2010 at 15:39
