This is a photograph of Branch Managers of the former Hucknall Torkard Industrial Provident Society (The Co-op). On the front left is Alec Severn and second in left on the second row is Sam Whyatt. Others are recognisable, but names escape me.
The chap on the far right of the middle row is my uncle Les Johns. I may be mistaken but i seem to remember he worked at the co-op store on watnall road where JR Olympia Gym is now in the 1960s. He was a brilliant artist!
I think that the man standing 3rd from the right on the middle row is Mr ? Allan. He lived on Long Hill Rise. I remember him working in the co-operative society on Baker Street in the clothing / shoe department in the 1950's.

a few other are Philip Leivers, Authur Green & Jack Cain, I will have another look.
Further notice that lady second on front row is Muriel Bramley - Manager of the Bakery Shop which was in the High Street.
